My name is Catherine Silvas, and I am a Middle School English Language Teacher. I was raised in the neighborhood that I work in and graduated from the Middle School that I teach. My mother still lives in the community, the neighborhood is known as barrio centro, like being in the center of Tucson. It is a low income neighborhood. My focus is teaching grammar to English learners that need four hours of language arts. I am choosing the educational pathway as my career because I believe in leading students into who they are created to be. My goal is to inspire them and build them into great student so they can go onto being the not just students but the person for our community. The Teacher.
