Tips for Empowering Your Life

Dr. Caroline Leaf is a cognitive neuroscientist who wrote one of my favorite books Switch on Your Mind. She connects our brain to our God. Our mind is a powerful thing. If we feed it pure thoughts the likelihood of it producing pure thoughts are much higher than if we don't care what we put into our mind. Well as I was thinking about this amazing muscle we have that guides us in so many ways; I wanted to connect for us with the way to deal with our emotions during this Pandemic as we are in right now with a prayer.

Before I give you the prayer verse I want to give you a brief background of the author of this book. Paul is his name and he was not one of Jesus' disciples, but yet spread the word about Jesus. He was a martyr and on his way to kill Christians when his life changed forever. He wrote this book from his prison cell to the Philippians. "He had gracious affection and appreciation for the church of Philippi and wanted to empower them even though he was caught in a rough spot"

Here is the verse that I want to pray for us today, it's what I call the whatever verses, in Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Abba Father through these trials some times give us your peace, your peace that surpasses all understanding. We hear so many things that are happening in our world today that are pretty scary but I want to lift up prayers to you for my people in my life for that person that is reading this post. Be with us Lord comfort us, Lord, in ways that only you can because You are the only thing we can truly trust. You are the same yesterday today and forevermore. I ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen!

If These Walls Could Talk

Stories Behind the Art. Voices Behind the Vision. Pull Up A Chair What stories would these walls tell?   Would they whisper about the artist who almost gave up before picking up the brush one last time?   Would they remember the child who walked through the gallery doors believing they weren't creative—and left inspired to paint?   Would they tell of friendships formed during exhibitions, quiet conversations that changed perspectives, or the healing that happens when someone finally sees themselves reflected in a work of art?   Every wall has witnessed something beautiful.   Welcome to If These Walls Could Talk: Stories Behind the Art, where we uncover the people, the purpose, and the moments that make De La Vega Art Gallery more than a place to view art—it is a place where stories come to life. What These Walls Will Share 🎨 Meet the Artist Every artist carries more than paint and canvas. They carry memories, dreams, culture, faith, and purpose. Meet the...

Destination Journey

Retreat to your childhood. Make a list of all the things you thought you wanted to be when you were younger and why. List everything even if it was a circus clown. I remember many times that I wanted to be a veterinarian because of the love I had for animals. I wanted to find out everything about animals. There were also times that I wanted to be a builder because I loved creating things. I build a shack for my guinea pigs. I was told I made a toy when I was four and called it the up and down toy. Another, I am not sure if I ever thought about being this but I loved cooking, I loved creating special things to eat like a pickle and mustard sandwich. Most creatively I thought of being a seamstress because I could sew anything and create anything. I also was told I should be a hairstylist because I would style hair so well.  Describe in your own words what you think a "calling or life purpose" means. Write if you think it's always related to a career or something else. Make...
